James Iha, Landslide, and a Guitar Magazine.
I remember getting a guitar magazine with Landslide transcribed in it, and in the blurb about how to play it, the transcriber wrote something along the lines of; "guitarist James Iha lays down an expressive solo where he plays non-chord notes blah blah blah..." --basically giving all sorts of kudos to James' guitar playing...
...and now it turns out from this week's interview that Billy improvised the solo in one take. I wonder if the description would have been the same if the writer knew the truth? |
