What’s the current situation?

My understanding: The previous reissues were released by record company A. This company was bought by record company B late into the reissues and now doesn’t have confidence in releasing Machina (but has the rights to those songs?)

my guess is it was never actually completed or the final submission was considered inadequate by either the label and/or billy/the band itself and the project was either temporarily shelved or abandoned completely

when billy was posting updates about the "mixing" process it seemed like they were spending like an hour or two per track max which doesnt seem like enough time to me to get a decent result

RBQ baked the original Machina master tapes in 2000. Once B0lly spent 2 years trying to revive Machina in 2017, RatBastardQuinto baked the tapes again. So its been 6 years and we still have no Machina reissue and B0lly does not want to admit that RBQ is responsible.

This isn’t out yet because Billy believes, in no small part due to threads like this, that the Machina reissue and its companion the Metro DVD will make him some big money. To do that, the set needs a proper release. However, no proper record company believes him. He doesn’t want this one to come out through the tea portal.
