A ten-foot tall steel monolith mysteriously appeared on a hillside in Hay-on-Wye, Wales over the weekend. You might recall that in 2020, other similar monoliths manifested and then vanished in Utah, Turkey, Romania, the UK, and elsewhere around the world. This one caught the attention of Richard Haynes who on Saturday was out for a run in the area.

"I thought it looked a bit bizarre," Haynes told Wales Updates. "Then I went up to it and it was about 10-foot-tall at least and triangular, definitely stainless steel. It was hollow and I imagine pretty light. Light enough for two people to carry it up and plant it in the ground."

Boeing Whistleblower found dead in his car

Police in Charleston, S.C., are investigating the death of John Barnett, a former Boeing quality control manager who became a whistleblower when he went public with his concerns about serious safety issues in the company's commercial airplanes.

Barnett's body was found in a vehicle in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Charleston on Saturday, police said. One day earlier, he testified in a deposition about the string of problems he says he identified at Boeing's plant where he once helped inspect the 787 Dreamliner aircraft before delivery to customers.

5-10 years ago i wouldn't have called vaccination conspiracy a 'political' issue. It tended to be something rich liberals bought into, but not for overtly political reasons.

Jumping over to flat earthers for a second. I mean the whole thing is too ridiculous to get into, but I don't even get what "They" would gain by having us believe we live on a globe if in fact the earth is flat. Why would fooling people like that benefit anyone?

The town I live in has a "flat earth" guy who has beat up cars with like flat earth shit painted all over it. He also thought Covid was a Hoax and has "Biden is a Zionist" painted on the wall of his house

I'm unclear on this myself, but I read an article once, about a guy who built his own rocket to try to prove the earth was flat (by launching himself high enough that he'd be able to see it, obviously). And apparently most flat-earthers believe that Antarctica is actually an ice wall around the rim of the planet. Some think this rim is guarded by soldiers who'll kill you if you approach. Some just think the wall is naturally impenetrable somehow. And a very few, like this rocket guy (who, surprisingly, died in his attempt) believe that beyond the ice wall—is more ice. An infinite amount of ice. There's our flat disk of a planet, and then the rest of the boundless universe is just ice.

This doesn't help explain anything, I just think that's the most metal fuckin' idea.
