Album is beautiful and better than anything BC has done in decades.

This is not better than Wish

what is it with goth bands releasing good albums in the 2020s that are immediately bonkers overrated by fans? is that just the power of the 2020s hype train??? Memento Mori was solid but "best since Violator" ? stfu!

anyway yeah good album glad they finally put something out

This one is really good, but I got into the Cure through Bloodflowers so I'll probably always be partial to it.

It's a DR5. Disappointing. Sounds good in the car though.

No, the absence of dynamics, the "loud at any volume" ethics

I guess, I really like the production. It seems very desolate and shrill, in the best ways. I think it's a complementary artistic decision.

That three-song stretch from Wendy Time to Friday sucks, my guy.

Wish is a generally good album. But it's not on the level of what came before it.

I have it on good authority the next Sisters album will be the best since Vision Thing, incidentally

I like the production all right, the mastering is the problem, it's this loudness war bullshit that mainstream artists all seem to need to be partaking in

coming back around to this: while i still don't quite think it's better than Wish, it is def a strong record

my biggest qualm with it at the moment, and part of the reason I was put off somewhat initially, is that they have (what i consider, at least) the weakest track on the album right up there at track 2

it's a bit of a slap in the face pace-wise in a way i haven't really felt since Moon-Shape Pool, but unlike that record, it actually gets back on its feet running in a huge way afterward

Fragile Thing thru the end, though, is quite strong indeed!

track 2 is the best one and Moon Shaped Pool rocks so I reject your post, Goldberg

Isn't Moon Shaped Poo a Radiohead album?

and it was the last time a band made me feel such a slap in the face pace-wise on the record before this one here with the track 2!

the album starts with "Lost" ffs

obviously it's a subjective list, not something i'm submitting to Spin fuckin' Magazine for the "definitive order," but that album in particular was a huge right place, right time thing for me - my first exposure being the "End of the World" video coming on while I was at some weeklong summer camp thing at 12 or 13

most of it still hits, people overstate the Ross Robinson influence (or at least, the degree that the thing sounds like Korn) and who knows what I'd think of it if I were some "been with 'em since Disintegration" guy but with it being the newest record when i actually got into them, i fuckin' loved it & still do, right down to the childlike drawings for all the cover art

Apart from their Greatest Hits, I only own 1 Cure album, Wild Mood Swings. I bought that one because I really loved the track Jupiter Crash and was hoping the rest of the album would be at that level. It wasn't. I mean there are a couple of catchy songs on it but nothing to really encourage me to keep exploring their discography.

As for their Greatest Hits CD, in no particular order, the songs I like are Inbetween Days, Just Like Heaven, High, Friday I'm In Love, Mint Car, and my favourite Cut Here. And the songs I don't really like are A Forest, The Walk, Why Can't I Be You, Lullaby & Never Enough. I don't know what that says about me for what kind of music I prefer from this band, but maybe someone can recommend an album of theirs based on these choices?
