It's possible but probably not. I'm honestly not familiar with much after Monster so it was only yesterday I learned Up was their first tour without Mr. Berry.

that one's mainly just kinda "blah" w/ a couple actual highlights

i've come to like this tune in particular quite a bit:

that's definitely a strong parallel - main part I disagree with is that they never recovered

Accelerate was quite the upswing in that regard, and also unlike Pumpkins they knew when to actually call it a day

I just think it's undeniably R.E.M.'s Adore. Both bands had to make up for their drummer's departure, both tried to reinvent themselves and update their sound with a pinch of "modernity" but falling very short of expectations and never really recovering from that etc..

Heck they even employed the same guy (Joey Waronker) at some point
