the Personal Jesus one was pretty useless (most covers of that song are,) didn't really do anything different with the song just kind of amped it up to bring out the more obvious elements of "blaspheme" or whatever because it was the DEVIL BOY singing it

I saw him the day after the Columbine shootings. The media was saying that the shooters were into MM, so people boycotted the concert, half the arena was empty, everyone over 30 in my hometown wanted the concert cancelled. There was a huge protest outside the arena organized by churches.

I think it started out as a co headlining tour with Hole, but MM and Courtney Love got into fights or something like that... so Hole quit the tour and MM did a bunch of dates without Hole.

It was that tour where he took the stage crucified to a cross made of Televisions. The stagecraft was painfully apropos.
