i don't know about you all, but i loved CDs. the best was loading up my 6 cd changer, which was after market add on to my pioneer sound system mounted in the trunk of my car. Don't ask me why it was in the trunk. The guy at the car stereo place told me he couldn't mount it in the glove box because the changer was too big or something. i loved loading it up with the full 6 cds and then hitting shuffle and just letting it take me on a journey. Once i put in Violent Femme Hallowed Ground, Smashing pumpkins Gish, OMD Dazzle Ships, Soundgarden Badmotorfinger, The Cure Pornography, and U2 unforgettable fire. That was a crazy mix even though it kept playing like three U2 songs in row, which didn't feel much like shuffle. So i left that set of discs in for like.... 3 weeks... in my trunk disc changer. The whole time i just kept waiting to hear Add It Up. So many great opportunities in the car to hear it too. Would have been perfect for many driving moments. It wasn't till i finally swapped in new CDs that i realized that Add It Up is on Violent Femmes self titled LP, not Hallowed Ground.

True story

Ehhh... Shiny had 3 songs which I think would be respectable on a Greatest Hits including post-2000 material, so I can't be too down on it.

Recently some of us wondered what u were up to 2 lately and I looked at your web presence, or lack thereof, and I am really sorry but I wondered if u were dead

Or maybe ur just so busy giving Zoom drum lessons that u don't have time to keep us hardcore fans up to date on what ur life is like

If you are dead tho, RIP in piss dog

chorus is still bad but it's much better without the woowoowoowoowoo which is still one of the most embarrassing things Billy has ever done

it could be the greatest song in the world (it's not even good), and that shitcock makeup and wardrobe would still negate it all

It's so much better. I never knew there was actually a good song in there somewhere.

When I saw them with some of my buddies in 2019 and they played "Knight of Malta", all of them said things along the line of "holy shit we didn't know he could still make music that good". When I told them the name of the song after the show and they pulled it up on Spotify, they all died laughing at how bad the recorded version sounded. The story of SP these days.

Remember when The Strokes had great success writing 3-minute get-to-the-point bangers on two consecutive "garage-rock" albums, but then decided to write a long and laborious prog rock record before disintegrating into less popular solo projects, each member writing less successful variations of the band's original formula? Then they reformed and released a couple of wallpaper albums people claimed to listen to, but nobody remembers.

Ladies and gentlemen, The Strokes.

We could've been on 3-minute banger record no.10 if they'd stuck to the formula.

Actually no sir, can't remember any amount of garage rock in those. I do however remember the "3-minute get-to-the-point bangers" my flatmate was having at the time. Still a better listening experience than Julian Clablacanssas artistic output.

I fuck around with some covers, and stroke songs are quite fun to play. Pumpkin songs are just SOOO long and our execution just lacks to do them justice - but typically if I cut out a verse or two, and treat them like Stroke songs, they're much better as 2:30 tracks than the 4:00 radio singles.
