Plenty of cities no longer have rock stations. It's all Jack format, talk ,and Radio Disney now. Most of the Modern Rock stations that are still around jsut never changed and they are a weird form of Modern Classic Rock now. The two modern rock stations we have here now play basically nothing but 90's music.

just watched the vidya, it's coll wtvr.

Relistening to this song my inner producer/production nerd is kicking in. Even on a pretty dud track like this, Reznor's choice of synths and sounds is, as always, fucking top notch. The pad that appears around 0:37 specifically is mint and the minimal lightly arpeggiated blips in the chorus are great too. He really needs to can that guitar tone that he's been using since 95 though. What's even the fucking point of having Adrian Belew on yr record if you're not gonna let him fuck with your guitar sound?

ALSO that thing where the guitar comes in to just like play the fucking melody in straight 16ths needs to stop happening. It sounded cool on The Fragile but it's really fucking slack songwriting to do it all the time.

Well, it's their first major label record in 6 years. Makes sense for the first single to sound familiar and recognisable NIN from Columbia's point of view.

Still, I do agree with you. He could write another song like this in his sleep.

Video is way below the level of some of the degree show work I've seen recently. It's sad as Trent was once innovative. Now he calls up his mainstream mates to make forgettable videos.

There's a recent interview where he was asked how the Lynch video turned out. I think he said something along the lines of "well it's.. weird" and nothing else. Sounded awkward somehow.

I'm thinking the scenario was that they said Lynch could have 100% creative freedom with the video and whatever he'd come up with, they'd release.

Too bad. Had my hopes up. Hoped he would have put out some as batshit insane as this:

I mean what the fuck is going on there.

Looks like they've started playing new material as well.

I wish he didn't do that same stupid breakdown as Came Back Haunted, you can literally listen to this song before you've heard the whole thing
