Default new Bruce Springsteen is Magic

This album is so good, I heard the first track online today and went right out to the record store to pick it up.

Something about it makes me wana read On The Road by Jack Keroac.

...or Dharma Bums.

...you know, it makes me think of Keroac.

It does remind me of old Bruce but I'm not sure if I like it yet. I'm still letting it wear on me.

I know this doesn't matter, but Rolling Stone gave the album a 5 star rating.

his 2nd actually. this one was actually produced by lee ronaldo though and it's more songbased as opposed to his experimental live show.

Oh, I've never taken Rolling Stone seriously. I just remember reading a small thing about the making of the album and who was involved, I haven't seen the reveiw yet, though.

The last relative thing I remember seeing from them was when they praised David Gilmour's album last year. But that could have been Q mag

I do love Springsteen.

I've got a rip of this album but I've only listened to the first two tracks. Sonically, they sound very similar to The Rising. I'm not really sure what I want out of the Boss these days but I'm not sure if this is it.

Err...someone want to tell me where to start with Bruce Springsteen? I've always felt like I'm missing out on something kind of important.

Start with Born To Run and if you don't like that there's no sense in going farther. You're also probably a heartless, soulless prick.

The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle, Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River, Nebraska, Born In The USA and Tunnel of Love are all fantastic. There's still a few I haven't heard yet, mostly the ones from the 90's everyone hates.

Here's the breakdown (in my opinion):

1. The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle
2. Born to Run
3. Nebraska
4. Tunnel of Love
5. Darkness on the Edge of Town
6. The River
7. The Rising
8. Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ
9. Devils and Dust
10. Born in the USA
11. Human Touch
12. Lucky Town
13. We Shall Overcome

I just got it and I'm pleasantly surprised. I haven't really liked a lot of Bruce's more recent albums, but this one harkens back to his late 70's/early 80's style - not neccesarily in the beat or melody of every song, but more in the soul of it.

It's actually got some soul to it again for once.
