Default Scott Weiland reminds me so much of Jim Morrison

Not just in the way they sound similar when they sing at times. But also what I know of their personalities. And at times even the weird really out there lyrics.

It's weird how The Doors never get the notoriety that they deserve. The Beatles are constantly mentioned all the time but hardly ever The Doors.

after their first two albums they were essentially a cocktail jazz band. the latter stuff was truly terrible

and i don't think their earlier stuff is really all that great to begin with. but thats just me

you guys are wrong you're being distracted by the big goon, the band behind it and ray manzerek in particular are pioneers of psych

The Doors were as brilliant as the Beatles at times. There I said it. Between Manzerek's organ / keyboard playing and John Densmore's drumming they pioneered acid rock / psychedelic rock.

they were cool. alot of their music blew my mind as a teenager but i don't put them up there with beatles, pink floyd, zep, ect. most people do, and in that regard i find them a little overrated. i think alot of it had to do with cult of personality

well CW just did, i wouldn't say they were as pioneering in psych as basic Jim Page guitar heroics and sound effects or pink floyd in total but there's an organ in most of these psych bands for a reason

Steppenwolf are the Nickelbacks of acid rock. They are the ones that don't deserve any credit.
