The quality of the product is irrelevant so long as it's THE MASTER'S VISION. Collaboration is submission.

Yes I'm sure the last thing Mr Moulder wants to do with his time is spend it anywhere near Billy Corgan.

It would be cool if he recorded something like that with crowd noise as an introduction to the "concert" section of Machina. But maybe add it as an extra track, so people can ******* it in a playlist if they want the full Machina Suite.

the original "inbetween rap plan" was it would go in between the album proper and the faux live show.

A few minutes of crowd noise and chit chat with some barely audible/intelligble rap in the background, all mixed binaurally as if you're really there and the venue is playing some music before the headliner comes on.

At one point this was going to be about 20 (twenty!) minutes complete with some sounds of roadies setting up and saying things like "check check one two" and someone asking you if you've got any weed.

Ex Footballer John Barnes was to do the rap, WPC knows him through New Order.

The in between rap/spoken words parts are just gonna be the “how you doin man, life’s so rad” bits from Weezer’s Undone overdubbed

truthfully it's "Heavy Metal Machina (rap version 4)" or "Blue Skies Bring Tears (guwop 6)"

I'm Billy Corgan and I'm here to say
Listen to Machina on your headphones today
We've got guitars, vocals, bass, and some drums
We're coming to your town and we love to have fun

Promise was played in a few 2000 soundchecks right? Interesting a studio version exists

Seems dialed in on finishing this project. Cautiously optimistic I get full wall of sound, new vocals, and live crowd noise with Billy berating the fans upfront.

LOL he’s giving us a new version of Sacred and Profane with, and I quote “vocal up” version that’s different that what were used to “where the vocals were buried”

Billy’s a crowd pleaser

This is the same Howard Willing that clipped and distorted almost all of the Adore reissue bonus tracks

to be honest even if he put clips online of "which version should i choose" i would no way ever trust the "fan community" to pick the "best" one so all this talk of "yea we have 16 versions of stand inside your love idk which one to pick maybe a remix of the master maybe a rough demo" just stresses me out

yea like when he talks about "sonic qualities" being brought to the front you know it's going to be the sound of him breathing in before a line

i was thinking along these lines as well... this is not the first time he's posted screenshots of this stuff, talked about different tapes, etc.

and he's talking about it now as if this is his first time digging in?

between that, the mention of overdubs, the unwillingness to work with the original artist... we have very little reason to expect this is going to be of the quality it deserves to be

also the mention of so many tapes being lost.. what is the deal with that? it's not like these things were created in the 1960s in some hippie's home studio. he makes it sound like they were just stuffed into some cardboard boxes and tossed into a storage facility, and later lost in the wind, a la storage wars. jeez

The vocal levels sound good on Machina. Everything sounds part of a whole...

...now I can imagine vocals sitting on top of the mix like shit.

Here is a microphone recording of Promise from outside a sound check in 2000. Sounds like it may have been abandoned https://archive.org/details/tsp2000-02-27.sc.flac16
