I predict that Harris will win 10-15 million more votes than Drump, and more than 300 electoral votes. On the night of the election news channels will call it a landslide.

But over the next two months at least two of the states Harris wins will refuse to certify their electors. They'll likely follow different tactics to fuck it up, but the goal will be to stop Harris from receiving 270 electoral votes.

The republican House of Representatives will then elect trump in January as president.

Not sure when the country will break up. But I hope it's before I die of old age. MAGA dictatorship will want to keep the West Coast and New England because that's where the feds get most of the tax revenue that they disproportionately funnel to southern right wing states.

But after another couple of pointless federal elections where Dems won't be able to regain power, there will be a push by states on the coast to be done with this disaster and just leave.

Oregon/Washington west of the Cascades will be the first to leave the United States.California will go next. Then most of New England, NY and NJ.

I highly recommend the Glock 19 as a side arm and a something like a Mossberg 590 shotgun. Both are Very reliable and easy to shoot.

yeah America is absolutely stupid enough to elect him again. this entire election is coming to down to the economy, which anyone who didn't sleep through civics in 10th grade knows, the president has almost no direct power over. but that's what is fueling his army of insane, inbred, troglodyte jagaloons

compound that with the 25-30 or so percent of the electorate who are actually just intensely fearful and hateful people and think the haitians are coming for a fresh cut of woofy, and the guy easily gets a second term.

in a sane world this would not be possible, nor would it have been possible the first time, but yes, americans and just humans in general are really that prone to biases of tribalism and ignorance

Harris will almost certainly win the popular vote, but odds of her winning the electoral college are probably 50/50 right now. A week back, it was less than a 50% chance.

Even though most elections are referenda on the economy (despite, as you mention, the president having little control over that), even by that measure… the U.S. economy performed pretty damn well under Biden. Slowing inflation without plunging into a recession, and doing it quicker than any other developed country. Longest streak ever of low unemployment numbers. I think people think "inflation is still bad" because they don't see prices at the grocery store going back down to what they were before the pandemic, but they probably don't understand that "slowing inflation" still means positive inflation. Prices will never go back down. Unless you get deflation. Which you really do not want for an economy. The goal isn't to get the prices back down, but to prevent them from getting higher so quickly that they far outpace people's purchasing power. And, well, wages have been increasing. Faster than inflation. The U.S. economy is literally doing pretty damn good.

But vibes about the economy don't always match up to how the economy is actually doing.
