The instrumental section on this song is actually pretty cool. Though very 1994 Division Bell. Didn't think belly would go full late Gilmour, but I suppose 'tis the season (of life).

It's also funny how by this point in the record, we, as devoted mind slaves of BC, must be closely following the plot. This is a very emotional and dramatic point in the record where someone or something has been "culled." The robot from Hooray!? RUBY?!? Are you OK!?!?

Springtimes is only average really. I listened to it earlier and I don't remember the melody or tune of it, let alone any lyrics. If it had been on Cotiliions no one would've noticed it.

The Culling gets to a reasonably interesting place, but to hear it is to hear a lost opportunity.

After torrenting the FLAC version and giving Part 2 a listen.. I don't like it.. there are only like 30 seconds in the Culling and 45 seconds in Springtimes that sounds good..

I listened to it whilst doing things, remember thinking it was the same mindless nothingness, then the podcast kept playing and whilst I was still doing other things I listened to b0lly witter on for 20 minutes about something I can't remember. I then realised it was still on, turned it off, and I can't remember the song.

I actually laughed out loud when I heard him say that. On other episodes, he has been very open when he does not know how to pronounce something. The confidence with which he went for such a horrible mispronunciation of "deus ex machina" was stunning!
