Best song they've released from ATUM in a while. I was rolling my eyes with the synth intro but then it got...good?

ATUM would be so much better received if they scrapped 23 of the songs and just put out more stuff like this.

I wonder why they've released this one early. They are going to be in Stern tonight again, I my bet is they are playing it live and wanted it to be premiered on their channel first.

this is just the pre-release single. beguiled was released essentially to announce the project, but due to the delay until the full release they need to release another one to regain public attention before the full album drops in a few weeks. this track makes a lot of sense for a single. the single release schedule has not been in sync with the podcast release schedule at any point, it's just not really an important consideration on the marketing side of things. this comes about a month before full album release so the timing makes sense. i think we're still to see the bulk of marketing for the album to come considering the album will finally be available to purchase as a whole and in physical editions. full album reviews will be coming out etc. and probably more music videos.

The atmosphere is just blah. If they were writing music like this in the 90s I never would have tuned in.

It’s good for SP2 or 3 or 4 or whatever you want to call this current lineup. But that doesn’t make it good. Definitely the catchiest song he’s written in quite some time but the vocals are still grating and it’s kinda generic.

Coming from a SP newbie point of view here and I’m a non musical expert but his voice just doesn’t fit with the the guitars / drums. Something just seems off with it all. Seems rushed.
