I had never seen this footage before this year.
Is this the leaked reissue DVD?

It's been available for at least a year. It's a great show/video. I don't think it has / will have any connection to the reissue.

Do you know where it came from? For years there has been only very low quality video from this era (Musique Plus, Live in Tokyo, etc.)

I see. Shame it didn't make its way to youtube earlier. Its the best footage I have seen of them after 1998 besides the Leno and final show videos.

Billy's morning shits are probably more important to him by this point than the "Machina Reissue"

Someone who apparently got dismissed from the archive teem for being "too negative" came here a few weeks back and said Machina's been pushed forward for an anniversary release date. Nothing official.

I don't shit around about the Machinery Issue. This was the post:

The Machina reissue was completed after Christmas, and everything has been signed off on it but there were some issues with the artwork (big shocker) and it was essentially put on hold until he decided to announce one day that everything was complete. Originally he tried to get it released this summer, but that changed to February of next year instead assumingly to coincide with the original album release.

Neither of these projects have been shelved necessarily, they're just taking a long time to get released and as with anything B is trying to maximize all profits to fullest extent to keep his shitty tea shop and wrestling business padded with as much cash as possible.

Source: I was recently dismissed from the archive team because my "input was too negative".

All I've done is simply relay the very same concerns and frustrations that all of you have been since the Japan pre-order. Part of this job was to monitor social media and "keep our ears to the ground" on feedback.

Furnace is a great company, lovely people working there- but they sent out two separate batches of defective Japan albums that either skip like crazy on a few songs, or shipped with two "sideA/B" records.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if many of you have Japan pressings that you're keeping sealed as a collectors item and have no idea it's defective.

Initially I was pretty stoked to be a part of this, but it wasn't a "team" at all. B has assembled a random few people to vote on whatever he feels like pulling from the archives. The only feedback or ideas he or his wife are interested in are ones that make more profit.

This experience has made it quite hard to enjoy SP, and seeing how these releases are being treated as a cash grab for B's tea shop gets under my skin pretty bad.

From here

I've always imagined whatever happened between Billy and James after this show must have been pretty bad. Here, there's an actual excitement and positive energy of sorts. The band sounds leaner and rougher than they ever had before, but still instantly recognizable as Smashing Pumpkins. James had his typical "goofy but apathetic" vibe going that he had perfected over the years.

When they came back again for shows in early 2000, Billy and James could barely talk to each other and the banter could become confrontational, James looked like he wanted to run off stage at any moment, and the energy of the music itself started to become abrasive in the way people associate with the Machina era.

TL : DR: Even more than the Metro show a year later, I would call this the last show of Smashing Pumpkins as we knew and loved them.

Iha: So, is everybody ready to dance?
BC: James, we did that on the last tour and the tour before that, it doesn't work anymore. Let it go.
Iha: These people just need some levity and I think they wanna dance. They just wanna boogie.
BC: Are you saying our music is depressing?
Iha: (British accent) Oy.
BC: Because if you are, James Iha, I'm gonna come over there and kick your ass right now!
Iha: I would say that uh, I dunno if Kafka would say we're depressing or not but uh....
he sounded genuinely mean here

yeah the Christmas Show fucking rips. that version of Zero is so, SO badass. is that another step down or something?

I think so. And it sounds like a faster tempo? imo the best live version of the song.

This is a good rendition of To Sheila. And he seems to be connecting with the audience with the lyrics, which is cute.

Tuned down to C like the rest of the heavy machina material. BWBW was tuned the same

but you have to prove to him, because he is Very Virtuous, that you bought the record to get the rip

defeating the purpose almost entirely

it's 2022, digital information should be limitless, open the frontier, etc etc
