Default Appreciation for Firewall / Black Oblivion

Such a fantastic song. A shame it's not streaming anywhere, I imagine it would be very popular with the "newer" fans that don't remember this from back in the day.

I'd never heard that before.

If only he sang like this now / produced his vocals this way.

Billy could probably still sound good if Tony Iommi wrote his music.

Even Ozzy would sound good if Tony Iommi wrote his music.

Ozzy (before he damaged his voice) was a significantly better singer than Billy ever was. Weird comment.

Cool, this is basically an Aronoff/Corgan collab, just like the original Cash Car Star.

I have the Iommi CD with this track but apparently it's out of print and so hard to find now. You can't even buy the mp3s on iTunes/Amazon, etc. It's surprising that the Iommi camp would just let this disappear into the ether.

Yeah that is bizarre considering Ozzy is on a song as well (and Bill Ward! No Geezer for some reason. I still count it as a Sabbath song tho cuz 3/4 is close enough)

thx spaceboy, easy to forget some of the greatness our bald lord & savior bestowed on us between the machines & oceania considering how much of it seems completely absent from all or at least most mainstream media & streaming

Another lost gem is "Ascendo" which is a great Billy & Jimmy instrumental. I remember it took me months to find a record store that carried this random-ass compilation.

This song just doesn't have that certain je nais se quoi/despondent/phoned in quality of SP in 2022.

When I hear the drums responding to the shotgun in the lyrics, I get the feeling the band was there for more than a paycheck. It's outside the business model you guys.

Yes, the recording these days might as well use [insert random no-name session drummer here] to save money and keep that biz model sustainable.

I found that weird Guitar World cd in an antique emporium a few weeks back. Best track on it is the Kim Thayil one.

You only have to look at YouTube to get a bunch of its recording...:
