Of course this is an ever changing list, but if I grabbed my I-pod right now: these would be the songs I'm currently liking the most

I haven't done one of these lists with serious answers in a long time. So fuck the what..

My all time top-10 SP:

- Gossamer (live w/ UI Roth version) (only thing from 2008 onward that's worthy IMO)
- Let Me Give the World to You (1998 Viper Room version.. I love the song but hate all of the recorded versions that have ever come out)
- The End Is the Beginning Is the End (too bad the lyrics are kind of rubbish)
- Behold the Nightmare! (live versions are generally better than album version)
- Vanity (best thing from the Machina era)
- Crush (favorite from Gish.. though all of Gish is good)
- Set the Ray to Jerry (favorite from TAFH.. though lots of good songs on there)
- Obscured (favorite from Pisces)
- Quiet (favorite from SD.. though whole album is classic)
- Beautiful (MCIS is my favorite SP album.. but this track stands out the most along with Porcelina and Sleep)

bonus:
- 1979.. just because it's the song that made me take notice of SP in 1995.

Imagine if this were one album. Ha!

it's the song that made me take notice of SP in 2013. we can all say it's the most basic, overplayed single, but it's really perhaps the most important thing they ever released.

Mayonaise
Whir
Pissant
Starla
Love (MCIS)
Galapogos
Bodies
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Blissed and Gone
Set the Ray to Jerry

This list was harder to do than I thought it would be. There were probably 20 close calls. Nothing was even really considered though after 2000.

It's the one song that has managed to transition into the classic-rock radio format. I still hear Today and Disarm played on Alt-Rock radio here and there and once in a blue moon Bullet but the rest of the songs are probably going to be lost in time as far as the casual radio listener is concerned.

i'd say Bullet will actually forever live on as part of the "grunge" era playlists/stations, but other than that you're right

That's really disappointing in a way. The best thing about the Pumpkins isn't rat in a cage.
