Hamburg 1998/05/14 video

Way back in 1998 I recorded this concert off New Zealand tv onto VHS. I just transferred the whole thing over onto DVD and am thinking of putting it out into the community.

I'm really only going to be bothered doing this if it isn't already out in the community in full. This is because my copy has a few flaws that could be surpassed by someone elses source, namely:
- the sound is not in stereo (could be mixed with the radio source though)
- the picture is good but not great quality as it was taken off a poor quality UHF reception, not digital.

So if it does not as yet exist or what does exist is inferior to this I will do the editing etc to get it ready.

I think the full concert has not yet widely circulated, so it would be cool if you could transfer your master at the highest quality possible (2 DVD or Double-Layer-DVD preferred).

I think I got a full VHS of this from Josh Provost back in 98, but I think it was really low-quality. Is your source PAL or NTSC?

Tell me if you need the full FM. I have the DAT master.

Mine is PAL, was the source you had off NZ tv as well? All things considered I think the qualities pretty decent, I do regret though its not better as it is a great pro shot show. Did Fonzie have a tape of it as well?

I was looking for that show several times here and have written several threads about it.
Would you perhaps be interested in making me a copy of that on video and trade it for something of PRO origins??
I have SP - Aptoese stadium '97,
Zwan - The only existong PRO shot from Rock am Ring 2003.

That is a really great show... probably my favorite version of LMGTWTY.

I have a VHS of this show too, at *least* second GEN, though maybe more :/ I planned on capturing it to DVD myself when I got a video capture card and the tape back from the US (don't ask why it's up there).

I've done a fresh rip with commericials etc cut that I need to author. I'll post a screen shot that maybe you can compare to so we can determine which is better, theres not really any point in releasing two.

Sounds good. Just to make sure my tape is 5-14, is yours shot in a widescreen format where the top and bottom of the screen is just black bars? My buddy doesn't always label his tapes 100% correctly.

I'm still pissed that i had a VHS of this that i recorded that was perfect but i left it in the machine without clearing the timer schedule for something else and it got recorded over

Well, mine is clearer, it doesn't have that inference. I'll have to look at this again. I'll capture a few minutes and make a screenshot.
