Default This Is The Closest Pearl Jam Ever Got To The Pumpkins IMO

I love this song.

I liked PJ in the 90s but they kinda faded for me. Couldn't get with it after the third album. Doesn't mean they were bad... just kinda stoped.

Anyway, this song is what I meant in comparison to SP.

I always felt Nothingman was sort of Pumpkins-esque.

I remember Billy saying PJ ripped off the Pumpkins but he never mentioned which song.

IDK but I listen with a close ear, and to me... lyrically it's close. PJ likes to tell a story. This and "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town" is like Rotten Apples.

It's like two people singing their responses to one another. .

are you sure Pearl Jam never played Crisco Twister with the Pumpkins?

i think that would have been the closest they got to the Pumpkins

I was the opposite. Too busy being a fan of SP to bother with Pearl Jam back then. About a decade later, I discovered what an extremely talented bunch they are and how many great songs Pearl Jam has. And yet, another decade after that, I don't find myself wanting to listen to them much. When I do, I always enjoy it, though. Maybe the problem is that the guitars in that band are very classic rock-ish. I guess I'm confused about how much of a Pearl Jam fan I am.
