Default So this is one of the best performances of Tonight, Tonight

As much as you want to harp on Corgan's metul performances, the softer ones like this nowadays are some of the best performances. Reminds me of the Adore era.

Nothing Mike Byrne plays on is the best performance of anything.

I mean the softer songs are better right now because the heavier ones pretty much suck now.

jeff's lead lines are annoying. use a keyboard or don't use one. it might just be the recording though

mike sounds serviceable. wish i could say more. it's a p. good performance all in all i guess.

Wow. Absolutely perfect.

In the second vid, while it's just a different angle of the same performance, the levels of Billy's voice make it sound so damn GREAT.

This just goes to show that Jimmy can play a simple track like Tonight, Tonight, and still there's something about it that sounds levels beyond anything Mike Byrne could ever dream to accomplish.

Crap. He's dropping his consonants again. Everything about this was actually decent, aside from his dropped consonants.

jeff has become the lead guitar guy on all the new tracks and he seems to be playing around with the tone and the riffs in the old songs (he used to just play them like he was reading them from sheet music). the good thing is that we can hear jeff live now. He seems to have his own style (different from what James did) and not just like a copy of billy's guitar on stage.

I don't mind his guitar on this one. I's just too damn loud, like it's drowning out the rhythm section and vocals. It might just be an issue at the spot in the venue it was recorded, but there were a lot of issues like that in the board recordings of the last tour too (shitty mix).

not bad for sure, but at the climax part of the song, he cannot keep the tempo subdued , seems just cannot help it - goes faster and faster as it goes loud and fast&complex fills.

Poor boy, but no wonder considering the way he drums. I said this before and will say again, but Mike's biggest issue is his body movement (esp arms) are too big. With such a way, it's just physically impossible to make delicate, nuanced and fast drumming and express dynamics and groove. Quite a few great drummers with "rock" style actually do headbangs and all that, but they do it for reasons (such as to drive the groove on as well as for entertainment value), but Mike has no good reason. He aint crap but, that's why some songs just dont work with his drumming, or he gets clumsy on some parts suddenly, even tho he does seem to be getting better, if not greatly.

In other words tho, if he can realize and overcome his issue and master the skills, he might be able to make exponential improvement and transform himself into quite a good drummer overnight.

I like the e-bow at the start, and well done to BC for doing something different with the vocals.

Drums pretty weak when they come in, and the e-bow or whatever is playing gets really annoying.

I find Mike's drums pretty good in this song. Not great because he still plays like a drunk caveman, but still pretty good. I'd rather Byrne and the current lineup than the awful 2008-era lineup and style.

His vocals are meh, but the guitar, bass, drums and the atmosphere + the orb make it one of the best in my opinion.
