Question Have you ever missed a flight?

i was suppose to pick up a family member from the airport today but she missed her flight. That got me thinking, what are some the reason people miss their flights?

I have never missed one, and am always super early as it is except for that one time i was coming home from a billy corgan solo show w/ a friend (we drove to seattle & Vancouver) and needed to be in bay area asap. So i booked a flight via my blackberry that afternoon.

So have any of you people missed a flight?

yes, but only once. I went to O'Hare Airport, and my flight was going out of Midway. they were kind enough to put me on the next flight for free.

Too many to count. And almost for the same amount of reasons.

Most often though something comes up that is more important - meetings, events, etc. Flights can always be rescheduled.

I've never missed one due to being weirdly late to the airport. But I have missed connecting flights becuase my first plane was late.

I've almost missed flights twice (once in Cincinnati coming back from the first Zwan show and the other in Chicago when I missed the bus)

i was going with my family to hawaii, and it was a early flight at the airport which is about 90 minutes away.; we got stuck in traffic and were 20 minutes to late and we couldn't check in.

I can ask for the entire week before labor day off and go with bf from sacramento, which would only be about 400 for a direct flight and he'd pay half. I wonder if I could get the vacation.

i missed a flight for the first business trip i ever made. the person who was supposed to pick me up was fucking PISSED. it all ended up working out in the end, though, as my delay put us exactly on time for our meeting.

i hate it even more when you get there and its empty as fuck and you end up waiting forever for your flight because getting a boarding pass, checking luggage and passing security was a snap. Then you think why did i leave so early? The next time you go and arrive a lil later and it turns out you left too late..

yeah the airport in roanoke is tiny and only has 6 gates so it never really takes too long to get through. I mean the security people are like half asleep they are so bored. the past two times I've gone through they have seriously been opening up every persons bag and wiping it all for explosives residue. like it takes 10 minutes a bag. god I wanted to shoot someone and I only had 4 people infront of me.

I've only ever missed connector flights due to airline scheduling/snafus. I usually don't mind because I can often talk the airline out of $300-$400 in flight vouchers for "cutting into my vacation" or causing me to "miss an important meeting."

hi speed rail would help with my fear of flying but it would take a while to get across the country, as i doubt there would be one that went into roanoke.

i am not sure that a rail would be anymore safer. most likely less safe because of access to tamper w/ the rail
