I would never argue these as the "greatest" but some personal favorites:

Husker Du - The Living End
Social Distortion - Live at the Roxy (I love the stage banter)
Cheap Trick - Music for Hangovers (skip any greatest hits sets and just get this instead)

The worst one I own is The Cure - Show. It sounds so over-produced, like the crowd was copied and pasted into it. I'd rather they just tie the Wembley '89 together on one album (they spread it out over the Disintegration singles).

I need to get into the Cure. I think I will download some of their albums and listen to them on my midnight Vienna - Varazdin bus ride.

I really like Pornography (the album lolol). What else should I download?

I'd go for Seventeen Seconds next and then The Head on the Door. A nice way to transition from the gloom of Pornography into their more commercial and better (Disintegration in particular) work.

"Am I a rock star? Yeah, I guess. I also get to live in North Beach and go to a pub and drink my pint and go to a café and drink my coffee. I carry groceries home on the tank of my motorcycle. I find pleasure in things that are simple.

Heh. That quote has been stuck in the back of mind since I first heard it years ago. Don't know why. Probably the image of him "having a pint" and pretending to be a normal duder.

I'd check out Faith, personally. It's the perfect album to enjoy on a rainy day or lapse into suicidal depression to.

Show is fucking terrible. I only picked it up for completist reasons. There's rips of The Cure In Orange floating around out there, that plus some bootlegs like Werchter 1981 or Olympia 1982 are the good stuff.
