Backing is fine, just not needed in every single song (don't know if it's I'm every song, but feels like it). Vox and synth over cooked, drums and guitar under done...

Bring back the hi-hat 8th notes at least man...

Billy mentioned they shot a live video with drones and stuff for Empires with Kevin Kerslake, that directed Cherub Rock video as well. I thought he didn't like that video back in the days?

I just listened to this pod today. Hmmm. Bill gushes over Jeff for 10 straight minutes. He's actually really sincere about his relationship with Jeff. He also goes on about how well ATUM is doing. Spotify total plays last year was over 200MM. Some radio station is playing a 2nd track from ATUM. He was overall totally happy with the album and now it's doing.

You're making it sound like ATUM is killing it on Spotify, which is not the case. Beguiled has a respectable +4M plays but ATUM numbers are much lower.

And predictably the bulk of the work is done by the MCIS singles.
