Yeah The Mephistopheles Of Los Angeles picks up a little but they seem to all have that same fucking shuffle beat going on. Anyone else notice this?

yes they have. it's pretty damn great. like one score split up, perfect soundtrack., one storyline and an actual "story" to tell, unlike, well, somebody else.

I have a streaming service too. It's the 1500+ albums on my wall that I can pull out and stream on my stereo system whenever I want to. |

Yeah, I mentioned it in another thread. Some of the songs are good, but every song is the same tempo with that same beat. It gets really old and boring after a while. Manson needs to put out some faster, heavier songs. That's his strength. "We're From America" off of High End of Low was great.

maybe, just maybe I wouldn't think it was so fucking awful if these ornaments didn't look like shitty dollar store ornaments with MTAE's shitty design on it. For all his complaining about adhering to integrity, Billy has to be the biggest fucking sellout of them all. Now I kind of understand why everyone thought he was a corporate stooge from the get-go. |

I don't listen to music on a stereo either. Headphones or GTFO, my neighbors don't want to listen to The Fall at max volume sadly

Manson never alienated his core 90s fanbase the way Billy has. Whenever MM would put out a bad album, the general attitude seems to be "hopefully the next one will be better" instead of "I'm done - fuck this asshole".
Plus Manson has been in the public eye constantly even when no one gave a shit about his albums anymore. He married Dita von Teese, dated with Evan Rachel Wood, is best friends with Johnny Depp, played a teenager in "Wrong Cops" (which was pretty hilarious), had a cameo in Eastbound & Down (hilarious as well), just had a crucial role in the final season of Sons of Anarchy etc etc. He's a public figure and a tabloid darling in a way Billy never was. Plus everyone remembers Manson from the 90s. Everyone. He was a genuinely controversial figure when that whole Columbine shit happened. Even people who hadn't heard his music or didn't even know he was a musician were aware of Marilyn Manson. I mean c'mon now. Gotta love it how little Manson gives a shit compared to Billy. In a best way possible. His interviews are still funny as hell, by the way. They're a treat to read, Billy's are a chore. there is a simple answer to this, billy is washed up because he's making lame music that nobody wants to hear

Not even Billy himself feels passionate about his new music. Why should anyone else?

I'm still enjoying the new MM - I pre-ordered it, which is more than I can say for the new SP.
It does suffer a bit from repetition, but it's still a more interesting album than Monuments which strikes me as a solid, safe, but ultimately forgettable release. |

I think it's because Manson plays music his audience wants to listen to, while Billy is constantly trying to branch out. Which results in not appealing to anyone at all

He couldn't convincingly hit on Cameron Diaz in that SNL skit so I'm guessing pretty bad
Has anyone mentioned that MM is more successful in 2014 because he is the devil, because that went over real well the last time I brought it up Also does MM have any more records like "Mechanical Animals" because I love the fuck out of that one and I haven't really heard much of what he's done since I always picture like Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem covering "I Don't Like the Drugs," or maybe Beck if that's not feasible |

I haven't seen it in a while but didn't he just giggle throughout the skit? He asked for and got a short cameo role in Spun as a doctor. He wore a blond wig and I think he had one short line.

No more and no less than most people.
Is there anything else i said i hadn't done since that year? I think i recently said i hadn't bought a SP record since 2000. I can't think of anything else right now. For SP, I should have extended that to or stolen/illegally downloaded. |
