him and dave got me into drumming. i used to come home from school and play along to Skin and Bones, religiously copying his parts...never got to see them live.

(it does seem like a drugs thing, doesn't it? he had a heroin thing in the early 2000s, they're in south america, he was otherwise healthy and touring...)

Wondering the same. Looked really healthy. I think that's why I'm shocked. Not that looking like that on the outside matters, but common! I'm guessing heart attack. IDK. It sucks to hear.

I just watched their performance from March 20th. With everything being super HD these days I noticed that he was messing up bad through out the show. Being a massive Foo Fighter fan I've watched hundreds of their shows. Taylor is usually extremely consistent, like Jimmy. He just looked so tired and drained, especially on their Queen cover. I remember thinking "this is the start of their tour so he shouldn't be this bad." Local news reports that he was dead in his hotel bed. So sad.

Colombian police are saying that a family member called for an ambulance, mentioned narcotics and chest pain. He was dead when they got there. What a sad way to go.

Saw the news this morning and couldn't believe it. What a sad loss. Total blindside.

I kind thought he was a doofus for some reason until I saw an interview with him one time, and was shocked at how thoughtful and smart he was. Cool cat. He was a popping drummer too, with a great sense of tone, not unlike Jimmy as someone said.

His personal charisma and persona made FF a real band. Especially in their late 90s heyday. What a sad, sad loss.

Very sad. Funnily enough I saw the news first from SP's Twitter. Couldn't believe it. I wouldn't have been a big fan, though I like the first two albums. However I really liked them as people and liked their documentaries. I'll be watching Studio 666 this weekend. RIP.

Not a huge fan of Foo Fighters, but as others in this thread have mentioned, he seemed like a genuine dude who really tried to do well by his fans. I remember in that documentary from 2011, they mentioned he got into some serious drug-related health issues in the late 1990s/early 2000s, and it looked like he was going to die at multiple different periods. I truly hope drugs were not involved here.
