i just think it fuckin' rips

that little section where everything cuts out but Abe's drums, then he has the resonant snare hit before a second of silence before it just slams back in. god damn it's one of their best "ragers" ever

the one i'm kinda "meh" on on DE, tbh, is Prince
i know it's kind of a fan-favorite or whatever, since it kinda sounds like something off White Pony, but if I want something that sounds like White Pony i'll just listen to White Pony

White Pony

I remember a fellow fan on another board described CMND/CNTRL as them reclaiming their nu-metal roots and I haven't been able to shake that perception since.

Next, let's talk about that wonderful three song stretch at the end of SNW. Kimdracula, Combat and Riviere? I mean, come. on.

oh hell yeah, it's my favorite part of the album

curiously enough, the final 3-song stretch on Gore is also my favorite part of that album

White Pony saves it's big single 'til practically the very end as well, they're certainly not a band you could accuse of frontloading (unlike Took's father, etc)

Looking up their bassist situation, it looks like the band took this suggestion a little too seriously.

Oh right sextape is not even on SNW lol.

I don’t care much for Combat.

You’ve Seen The Butcher is incredible and the video is probably the last time chino will have ever been hot as hell (but he is v hot in it)

And Abe Cunningham is just great. What Happened to You? is overlooked but I love it and it’s a great closer.

Humor is totally subjective. I just never found it funny. And hearing it so many times from playing the album in full soo many times never made it any funnier.

isn't Back to School more of a remix than an actual song anyway? it seems like a remix of pink maggit with added vocals

always disliked it

dunno about precisely, but it's definitely got "dat vibe"

on its own merits it's a swell track, just not really in the mood for it everytime i put on the album

Fuck you all, I still have "Pink Maggit" stuck in my head and have been singing the chorus to myself for days now.

Depends on how you wanna define "remix." Basically they took the chorus out of Pink Maggit and built some new shit around it. Completely different song in my book.

I've always wondered what qualifies as a "remix." The exact same audio tracks, but mixed differently? What about those hip-hop or electronic remixes of songs that sound like they are using totally different instrumentation? Like, a guitar riff is replaced by some synth-sounding thing playing the same melody? Did they replace the track, or just feed it through enough effects that it sounded like that?

When it comes to "Back to School," even the vocals during the chorus are clearly distinct from those in "Pink Maggit," so it's clear they didn't just sample the chorus from that song and stick the new verses around it. But are the instrument tracks for the chorus the same between both songs, but with more distortion added? Or or those new takes, as well? I dunno, I haven't directly compared the songs side-by-side and listened to this album, like, twice in my life.
