Default Other than the reissues, what's the most you've spent on a single SP item?

just wondering

Scalped a ticket to the final Metro show for $900 - almost my entire life savings at the time - yet took an endless train ride from NYC to Chicago instead of flying to save $25. It seemed so incredibly important to be there. It would have been inconceivable to me then how little I care for the new music now.

All I really have are the SD reissue (cost like $30) and a Gish shirt (cost like $15)

I also bought the same type of cymbal JC used on the SD tour (18" AAX Metal crash) for ~$115. It's thick and loud as hell.

I've purchased physical copies of all the reissues, but I think the box set may have been the final physical item I bought of post-2000 Smashing Pumpkins music. I was an idiot and bought it directly from the band's website where they charged around $40 for the set, plus an additional $10 to ship.

I sold it about 3 years ago and got $7.

Not really a "SP Item" but i wanted to try to clone Billy's '74 I love my mom strat in it's blue form since around 1997. I decided to break down and find all of the right vintage pieces and since he dropped the new Corgan pickups in i did the same. The neck is a '74 model and the body is a hardtail '76. It sounds really fat with that bridge pickup of his.
$1100 later here she is.
This is what she sounds like:

This sounds really good! I remember listening to this before, at the time I didn't think it was quite there, but on second listen it does sound really close. I don't even mind that the iconic squeals are missing, even though Mayonaise is m favourite SP song.

I got free lunch with billy for saying he is the single most influential artist of the nineties.

Well not free, he walked out after I said it was just a joke and he's actually the weird uncle of 90s rock so I had to pay for both meals.

winner WILL be expected to accompany corgan, byrne, & (jeff's last name) into the band van after the meal to participate in an evening of enthusiastic fellatio

failure to comply with any of these terms hereby disqualifies winner from A Night With A Top Scribe & they will be dropped down one of several cleverly placed trapped-doors located around the establishment

how much did mcis cost? like 30$? that's the most i spent.

wait wait...do show tickets count? I don't remember the price for the 2000 next to "last" UC show ticket but I know it was well above 100$. it was a good spot and I let some netphorian exchange it for theirs because they wanted to be close to their friends. I was such a fucking idiot. not that it would make a difference to me now how close to the stage I was though. Hopefully it still makes a diff in their life, I think it was The Gaddrow.

actually counting bus tickets and all I spent about a 1000$ on that like 4 days trip to chicago, partly becuase i lost my return ticket and had to buy another without the 2 weeks in advance cheaper fare.

I had at the time just lost my job and i came back home to no money.

I think I paid $80 for each 20th anniversary show I went to... that's probably the most on a single item. If we're not counting show tickets, I think I paid $30 or so for the Japanese Today single that had Apathy's Last Kiss on it.

But if you add up all the shows and records I've easily spent $1000 on teh b0lly.

My last release bought from the "new SP" was the EP 2. That was actually a really solid deal, I still love the picture disc that came with it and have it hanging up on my wall. I think it was only 25 dollars or something too.

The only reason I ever bought the first EP was because someone had given me a 50 dollar HMV gift card and I thought it might be an item that would increase in value... How naive I was
