sorry but i never got an email from you. maybe it's my junk mail filters since i get a lot of shit in my email; but i usually check that stuff out just in case something goes in there that i want to read. email me back with "pumpkins trade" or something in the title so i know it's not junkmail. i still don't know if i'll trade for pumpkins. i have TONS of pumpkins shows, most i haven't even listened to; but i have no APC shows and i really wanted to get one of those acoustic shows they did. that's all. i always reply to anyone who asks me for a trade, even if it's to say no; and IMO i'm rarely a **** about it. sorry for the confusion. patrick |

I am hoarding a few things, lol. A couple pre-FM SBD's: a Foo Fighters acoustic show form 2000, Weezer Sonic Sesssions, ummm, 311 acoustic 2001, some other things...an SP show....I have a hookup at a radiostation I guess you could say. Oh, and I taped some local shows on my own that no one probably knows/cares about: Laguardia, Zen Guerilla, The Delta 72, Session, Ty Cobb, Dandelion, Tripp 66....ehh, a few goodies in there.

So, what's this thread about?
Define 'hoarding'. I have a bootlist that is uhm, I think i may say, quite fair. But, I'm not trading anymore. So, am I hoarding the shows I have on there? Or am I hoarding because there are some people that I'm still willing to extract&shn a show for? Or am I hoarding because some people gave me shows as a present, and I, valuing those presents, refuse to trade them? Be blissed Jeroen np: ------------------ They pound pumpkins not out of malice or recreation, but because they savor the gourds' slippery, seedy innards, their gold-orange skins and their firm yellow flesh as well. And they are happily ignorant of all wordplay about pumpkins and rock bands. Smashing Pumpkins into Small Piles of Putrid Debris: All the pumpkins of the world cower in fear again, as another Halloween approaches. As always, they are destined to be culinarily transformed into grotesque icons of a pagan tradition. Their only hope was to steal all of Earth's candles and take them away to the distant pumpkin planet, Pumpkinia. [This message has been edited by Jeroen (Aagje) (edited 01-24-2002).] |

I'd say hoarding (in this context) consists of:
1. An agreement b/w 2 or more people to 2. Intentionally prevent wide dissemination of 3. Music for which the parties gave little or no value. Not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying... ---mjr |

Is it hoarding if it's on your bootlist but no one ever trades for it? Probably not (in intent, anyway), but de facto you could make a case...

1. someone (whether it's a friend or a trader) copies something for you and says "don't copy this for anyone". It's their decision that the bootleg will be hoarded, and you respect their decision. 2. you acquire something (whether it be by hard work or by luck) and decide to keep it until something equally rare comes along. In this case it's your decision that the bootleg will be hoarded. Of course there are also other situations, but that's a general summary. I'm not trying to say that one is right and one is wrong, but whatever. I don't really know. I guess I was just trying to help answer the "define hoarding" thing. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif Oh and if you have stuff that you are willing to trade but nobody is interested, then that's not hoarding. And if you have stuff that you would trade but you're no longer interested in trading, then that's not hoarding either. Or wait... maybe it is. Maybe that's like a third type of hoarding. ------------------ "love does not always have to be quiet and graceful, it can be boisterous and loud and even rude, to shout above the din to be heard sometimes... if only to bring a little peace" -bc http://www.suicidekiss.org |

i know its wrong, demeaning, and frowned upon in the community. but if there is no other way of getting those shows from those lazy ass fools who dont care to share the wealth with people, then why dont we make a small cash offer to them? honestly, if theres no other way...then why not. are ya thinking maybe theres still some hope in obtaining those in the future? ------------------ Fuck the others, im GREAT to talk to!!
