I think Billy is telling us that he understands our wish to have all of his music "on the album". He is saying that he can't release everything he makes in a particular era because it doesn't all form a cohesive album. However, he does what he can in the way of releasing singles with b-sides, allowing live recording and trading, etc.

I wish he would release all his non-record-label-restricted songs as paid FLAC downloads.

He lost a baby and now he's trying to find it. He figures if he plays enough shows it's bound to turn up at one of them. That's why he was so pissed at James for leaving the band, he was supposed to be scoping out the left side of the venues. Then during the TFE tour he brought a bunch of big lights so he could get a better look, and he had a backing track recorded so the other people on stage could keep a look out without being distracted by having to play anything

It seems to me that he is renouncing all of his previous music, and admitting that the Britney's of this world are the ones whose musical content is actually relevant in this day and age.

He's saying that the music of the past is now dead and we should forget all the classic rock bandnames, and deny that they ever existed, because the radio is obviously the source for all the best music, and he's sorry for the mistakes he made. He planned all this in advance, obviously.
