i agree that such a thing as youre describing (this kind of suggestive racism) exists and that explicit, conscious intention alone doesnt count for everything, but i dont think this guessing game we have is racist at all. i mean of course its technically racist because race (ethnicity, shut the fuck up. "ethnicist" isnt a word like "racist" is) is exactly the grounds were discriminating between these people on, but not in the pejorative sense you mean it. east asians do indeed look very similar overall but differ in a few kind of interesting and intangible ways and its an fascinating exercise to test your perceptiveness for something like that. honestly, its about as innocent as anything like this can be, but you just reflexively assume the most horrible intent or net result of anything that takes anything to do with "race" into account. you have to one day accept that all youre doing is just taking things to the other extreme.

but i do know what you mean. when someone says "hey, dude, you just jewed me!" or when -- bear with me here -- people use "nigger" so flippantly in rap music, there is a racist subtext to it all and it does push the overall issue in a certain direction whether they intend it or not, i agree. but you fail to realize that there is indeed room for discussion or, yes, even jokes on things that 1nclude "race" without having the whole thing spill over into any kind of dangerous territory. you just seem to make no distinction whatsoever

My best friends are Chinese, Italian (dark sicilian) and Mexican, with myself also being Mexican. Every now and then we make cracks on our own or each other's ethnicities. I think I would draw the line depending on who your audience is and who you are. None of you are my friends and no one else here is friends with each other so I think A line is drawn somewhere here.

I dunno man, I had to take a class in Mandarin in grade 12 before I went to China for 5 weeks, and I'm pretty sure I remember the first few characters for numbers as in the second picture.

lebanese food is honestly the best food in the world. every other cuisine can suck my fucking dick. i cant even think of anything i prefer more in the long term. in a "desert island" situation id take some yogurt, falafels, tabouli, hummus, and spinach pies and be done with it. i know this stuff isnt exclusive to lebanon but, from my dining experience, they do it the best by far. shit im drooling just thinking about it
