okay so here's the deal

i think the fundamental question is how did something come from nothing
because if u believe in god, where did god come from
and if u believe in the big bang, as far as i understand it, it still a given that something existed - entropy - in the first place. but i'm not a scientist.

i'm an atheist because i don't believe in god
but i don't think you can take out the possibility that something outside of what we understand is going on - something fundamentally different - that isn't unscientific, but it's beyond what we know how to deal with.

yeah ostensibly prior to the big bang there was a state of extreme entropy and then something happened to cause a dip in entropy and BANG now we have everything. one idea is that our universe is like a bubble expanding besides other bubble universes but that these other universes could operate with completely different laws of physics. there has even been conjecture that voids in the CMB could be from our universe physically colliding with other universes. there's also dark flow, an unexplained phenomenon where the matter in our universe all seems to be gravitationally pulled towards a specific direction beyond the cosmic horizon... so... there is probably something else out there even if we will never be able to know it. regardless it does seem likely that our own universe will eventually end the same way it began, in a state of extreme entropy

all this is so beautiful and amazing to me, I don't understand why people need God.
