Can I just say it is actually amazing that we as a country have programs to help those who are disabled and old and poor and it is in fact a mark of an advanced ethical society. Imagine getting people in the middle ages to pay for intensive therapy for people with mental illnesses. Our society should actually be praised for our social services, as much improvement as they still need.

This is just disability related I am counting in the 6k.

So I end up living on about $16,000 after disability related expenses. For rent, car, food, gas, taxes, other medical expenses, insurances, etc.

Does it bother you that your taxes help fund programs for people like me to get back in the workforce? Or is it just about the gov't taking money from you in general? Serious question, curious.

I'm not complaining, btw, about my income. I will be off of TTW in the next about two years and my education will cost about twice as much starting next year when I go to a different school. Right now my Pell grant covers all of it. Soon I will have to come up with about $5k a year for it on top the grants. I should get some scholarships, maybe enough for all of it but probably not.
No funded programs doesn't bother me at all, more money should go to those. My issue is the governments taxation on money it imo has no right to touch or investments it has no right in interfering in.

My business taxes are out of control. It's a deterrent to doing business which is an ideological counterpoint to America's economic philosophy.

How should the government put more money towards social programs if you don't want them tax businesses as much? What would you have them stop funding (as much) - the military perhaps?

It's a usage issue to me. Money isn't used correctly. Small biz taxes are astronomically high, capital gains taxes are as well. Yet that money isn't being used well.

the sad irony ofc being that if the weathy did pay taxes most of it would be spent on drones and assault weapons and urban assault vehicles

you know someone complaining about capital gains tax is a complete fucktard.

so you click a button with your mouse and invest a bunch of money in a company because you're rich. this money earns a decent return while you do absolutely fuck all. you then have the gall to bitch and moan that you have to pay less than half the taxes on that income that someone who actually worked for a similar income would have to. how cute.

i say this as someone who is about to pay capital gains tax to the government.

cuter?

i bought i condo because my rent went up four years in row...well above inflation. currently i spend like $150/month more to own than it would cost to rent it my building. It just makes sense financially.

I think last monday. I was upset about possibly dumping/hurting someones feelings. I know I'm giving mixed messages to this person. Also I forgot my pills the night before.
