![]() Yeah there definitely are some strong similarities. I always thought Kennedy was a rip off of various song by Garbage.

![]() This is the original version of Kennedy isn't it? I like this version better than the album version.
D. have you heard the original version of Big Shot? And if so which version do you prefer? That version or the one on Hope For The Hopeless? |

![]() It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't just grab handfuls of cliches, cheese, and other bands' trademark sounds, and act as though they're doing something new and adventurous. The Pit is little more than recycled New Order.

![]() yeah I just feel like it was cool and adventurous when the Pumpkins did Adore or Radiohead did Kid A, but now it seems like every band and their mom has to put out "the new wave/electronic record" and it's fucking boring. I'm bored of crappy synthesizers.

![]() What you said made me think of the disaster that was Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts. Man the more I think about it Placebo really should have broken up after Black Market Music.
I am kind of fond of the first album by the Killers and Ritual by White Lies. But yeah nothing really compares to Adore or Kid A. |

![]() I know noisy guitar rock is just as hashed out as new wave revival bullshit, but I guess it's just more interesting to me. Every rock band that doesn't know where to go next seemingly jumps on the electronic bandwagon. There are just so many musical directions for a band to go, I dunno why they all choose the same formula.

![]() Yeah I agree. Vampire Weekend come to mind. Good first album and really dull overproduced second album.
Now with the exception of the Pit Silversun Pickups don't really fall into that trap. The electronic elements on their new album aren't dominant and don't make you think of 80s pop music. Neck of the Woods is a really great album at times. |

![]() its because they taste a little bit of fame and suddenly think they can compete with pop(ular) music and pop(ular) music is very electronic-oriented.

![]() the reason they both sound similar is they're both a very minimally edited preset pattern from the MC 505.
