He's probably done and said a lot of messed up stuff actually, this is hyperbole to indicate the amount of enjoyment I get from this track, it is not an endorsement of whatever messed up stuff he has done or said or believed or whispered into a hole in a tree at the witching hour or whatever, I don't keep up with the guy honestly, I just really love this song and also it's called "Thank You" and as you can see I've just thanked Joey for contributing so it seems like a good time to post this, I thought of it earlier today actually so really it's serendipitous, go to hell, not you Joey but everyone in general, so I guess technically you but I'm not pointing at you specifically, and also I'm part of the "in general" so don't think I'm not calling myself to account

For some reason it pissed me off a bit to learn the "dad" originally also did all the chipmunk voices

Saves the studio money, probably. Considering the Chipmunk voices are just hyper sped up, anyone could do it. Chipmunks are notoriously hard to work with.

I think I just had this picture in my head, when I was a child, of Dave and then three guys who sucked helium or something

Now, when I read up on the Muppets, I didn't go, "Wait, one guy was Fozzy, Miss Piggy, and Animal? This is bullshit" so I don't quite understand why the Chipmunks thing makes me angry

My sister introduced me to this band in the 90s and, in retrospect, I don't have a clue how she became a fan, because I've met exactly one (1) other person in my long travels on this earth who's ever heard of them

Anyway they ruled for two solid albums, a bizarre VHS available only through their fan club, and a song from the point of view of King Koopa on the Nintendo-sponsored White Knuckle Scorin' compilation album that, for reasons I will never understand, is where that hit Roy Orbison "I Drove All Night" song came from

On this one, the guitarist had just had a huge blowout argument with the singer as they were about to record the song, and he blasted out this solo while just incredibly pissed off, hadn't rehearsed or planned it at all, probably staring daggers at the singer

So the great little bit where the guitar and drums align perfectly for a second was a beautiful accident, and is one of my favorite lil' moments in music
