Amateur sketch: Alien sighting 1 hour north of Columbus
614now Staff
August 13, 2018
Ohio is a popular destination for roller coaster enthusiasts, college football fanatics, and according to a recent report, we can add extraterrestrials to that list.

Mount Vernon News reports that an alien was spotted just north of town on July 31.

The anonymous witness, described as “credible,” was driving at the time of the sighting and provided this description to the Mutual UFO Network: Bipedal, 7 to 8 feet tall, dark tan to light brown skin, no body hair, slender body, arms and legs small in diameter, hands and feet oversized for body, oval elongated head, black eyes.

Quote:
Reportedly, the creature moved “at a tremendous rate of speed” as it exited a cornfield and sped across the road.

Here is a sketch courtesy of the witness per Mount Vernon News:

Knox County did not receive any reports of an unusual creature sighting on July 31.

Anyone who has had a similar experience as the witness in Mount Vernon is encouraged to contact MUFON at [email protected].

I saw one for these almost ten years ago in bronxville New York. At exactly 2:30 in the morning i was hanging infront if my house with two friends and seemed liked someone called 911 bec a brigade of trucks and cars came flying down my dead end street and in the blink of an eye the brigade had all somehow already turned around and driving the opposite way. As if the time in between never happened. Then this thing runnning backwards was sprinting across the street and ran under a light as we saw this translucent grayish skinny thing with no arms and legs bent backwards. And it vanished. But the whole time it was some how communicating with me me telepathically telling me that it wasn’t going to hurt me and making me feel safe. I have one other story as well.

Can you catch the wind?
Can you see God, have you ever seen Him?
I've never seen the wind
I seen the effects of the wind
But I've never seen the wind
Can you see the breeze?

There's a mystery to it

everyone of these albums has a few terrible songs and a few really good and/or great songs. so with that said--

1. CYR- purple blood, save your tears, and black forest black hills are really terrific. even some of the songs i scratched my head over at first (starcraft, hidden sun) are really hitting me as they do seem to come from a genuine place. instrumental layering is also really fantastic.. hearing this on a good stereo system w/ the vinyl is best way to hear it.

2. Shiny 1- silvery sometimes, with sympathy are two of the better songs that BC has written imo since the SP brand revival. marching on is great fun. knights of malta i like a lot too, but like others have said it was the live version that made me realize the quality of the song. SP doing pink floyd? always loved that always will.

3. Oceania- would be number 1 if it didn't have the shittiest SP rhythm section on record. songs are fantastic as is the production, guitar playing, etc etc. throw at least jimmy on this and it'd have been an easy pumpkins classic imo.

4. zeitgeist- i listened to this today and some of it just didn't age well. but my golly i never noticed before how great starz is. I'm also a sucker for united states.

5. MTAE- i really don't care for this album at all. one and all, dorian, tiberius are great, but the rest i sort of don't even remember at this point. run2me is embarrassingly bad.

6. teargarden- tom tom, stich in time, attempts at psych rock, etc. hey look, i hated mike byrne. so much. and it's not his fault. but in 2008 i was happy with where the pumpkin were headed.. seemed like they were finally finding new footing and i was loving a lot of the new songs (as rome burns, reworked gossamer, superchrist, march hare, etc)-- i felt like whatever was next was going to be incredibly promising. then billy has a meltdown and he and jimmy fall out, and instead we get what we got, which was really some of his worst material ever, backed up by a nervous sounding out of his league amateur drummer.. after years of jimmy. i was pretty much through with being a fan at that point. but here i am.

The thing about United States is if he cut out the 2 and a half minutes of whale masturbation noises in the middle or replaced them with something interesting (like, fucking shred or something dude, we know you're capable), it becomes a pretty awesome song.

lol that's my favorite part. I'm 100% all for anytime the pumpkins do improvisation. this is one of the better parts of the record and it's awesome to see live.

I genuinely like One and All a lot. I feel like Zeitgeist would be great if everything was different about it. That's it.

But u know what, SAOSBNFPENISVOL1 also spawned the worst music video ive maybe ever seen, the one for Solaris where big willie vapes blood with his manic pixies and the man with the muscles is watching jimmy play 4 square against jeff or whatever

United States is pretty great! What it really would have benefited from are some ear ripping screams instead of the rather limp delay effect on the vocal

I dig the whale noises, always liked that Future Embrace Eventide patch he used a lot around those few years

I can't believe all of you are treating Teargarten, Oceania, and MTAE as separate projects. They are all part of one ray of brilliance.

So my ranking:
0 - they all suck

with the caveat that there are some OK songs strewn among them: Inkless, Stellar, Shiny, With Sympathy, One and All. But how can we pretend these albums are rankable. Does one really stand above another as a coherently superior album?
