Damn that sucks, sorry. I’ve had shoulder tendonitis before which lasted like six months and prevented me from doing a lot of stuff. Not fun.

Ever tried tracking calories? I use MyFitnessPal to make sure I’m getting enough (or eating less, depending on the goal). For weight gain I find it helpful to throw in protein shakes immediately after the workout. I do:

12oz Soy Milk
1 1/2 scoops Beverly UMP Protein (cookies and cream because I am a child)
1 banana
1/2 tbsp peanut butter (or more to taste)
1 tsp honey
1 cup frozen mixed berries

That bad boy tastes like a god damn milkshake. Their protein powder tastes way better than anything else I could find. Instant 500-600 calories depending on how you make it.

i work out more regularly since the covid began but i have lazy weeks. probably working out less since i finished school, which should not be happening, but it is. i genuinely like the focus and sweat that come from physical activity. we're hopefully going to reorganize the dungon this weekend and get my pull-up bar and rowing machine set up (it's about to be winter) so that might give a new boost of motivation/fun. still want a punching bag and some heavier ankle weights though >_>

we got an analog scale over the pandemic to weigh a package and we occasionally weigh ourselves (and the cats) but it doesn't tell us anything we don't know or that matters. i only care about how fit and strong i feel and my muffin top situation.

Just as I was leaving the gym today, one of the trainer's stopped me to ask me what my squat and deadlift PRs are. I guess she's been noticing my lifts.

I told her the heaviest weight at which I completed my sets and reps (which, for my strength training, is four sets of four).

She was like, "four reps isn't a PR, though." I asked her, "you mean my one-rep max?"

I told her that I don't test 1RMs (I think they're kinda pointless. You're lifting a weight so heavy that you can just barely lift it once, so you're more at risk of injuring yourself through form breakdown or overstraining something. And you've fatigued yourself before you can even get enough volume in to really get stronger. The only purpose of doing a 1RM is to tell people what your 1RM is. No, I didn't tell her all this and rant at her about my opinions on how to lift, I'm not that insufferable).

"Wow, so your one-rep max must be even higher!"

She was surprised that I've never had a trainer. "You must just be strong." I dunno, all I do is lift a weight, and lift five pounds heavier than last time, assuming I completed all my reps and sets (if I didn't, I repeat last time's weight until I do complete them). There's no special trick to it.

She was telling me about her lifts, and how she wants to get stronger and compete in power lifting. She also mentioned taking up boxing, and how that's increased her upper-body strength.

Felt good to know that gym staff are impressed with me and want to know more about my training.

Well, this gym staff member wasn't one of the trainers, so it's not like she was trying to sell me her services. I have had times in the past when I think a gym staff member is chatting with me because they sincerely are interested in talking to me, only to realize they are a trainer trying to make a new client, so I know what that looks like now. Now, gym employees talk to me because I deadlift and squat heavier than nearly everyone else in the gym.

My upper-body lifts still suck, though; my overhead press and bench are pretty weak
Guess I was born to be T-Rex mode.

Gf getting fat...
another one of these threads. (no pics)

been with gf for two years and she seems to be getting bigger and bigger. stretch marks over her stomach, ass, everywhere. i've mentioned her weight gain to her in the nicest way possible, invited her to the gym with me, cook healthy meals etc. she just always seems unmotivated. it's a shame cause i really enjoy spending time with her, she's funny, nice, not sloot but the weight gain is just really hard to look past. sex life is pretty much non existent, friends have noticed she's getting bigger and make jokes. anyone been in this situation before?? if so what did you do

i'm 20, she's 19.

fitness is something that i'm passionate about train 4/5 times a week. track macros blah blah, come home from work/gym and she's eating a full tub of ice cream and wonders why i'm no longer attracted to her.

Thanks im gonna try that MyFitBuddy or whoever. Since i quit beer again (yearlong relapse oof) my huge fucken tits n swinging belly been shrinkin daily, but still got like 50 lbs to go or so
