Your singing is so reminiscent of everything I listened to in the early 2000s. Very distinct and pleasant.

Also, this is profound and inspiring, and who doesn't need more of that? This one has a different vibe, it's cool to see various aspects of your band.

is it true that youre the drummer? the drum part and tone are so so so good in this. love the relaxed roominess of it. would love to hear how it was captured

i ain't the drummer but I could at least a thing or two about how it was captured, since I did at least do that lol

I use a ribbon mic in the room and mix it pretty prevalently, in certain spots at least

next thing I record (whether for myself or otherwise) I think I'm going to have even more room mics, 'cause they really are the best in terms of drum miking (and a lot of miking scenarios, really ["miking" feels like a weird word when written out])

it's meant to be a little 'theme piece' a la the outro to the studio version of ruby. i'm working on some rockers... programming drums [because i cannot record where i live] is a turbulent trial. and the most glaring struggle: i cannot sing - or rather haven't tried to sing, i literally have a literal disability so it's not much use...i must figure out how to collaborate....

Lightning bolt gig was nuts. We opened, sold out, etc. got to fan boy with them and they were the nicest dudes. When lightning bolt hit the stage, Brian chippendale says “we’ve always wanted to do a show where we play with multiple duos spread out through a room, all playing at once, but we’ve never found the right bands. I think we found them with Fred Cracklin, and they might even level us up.”

Surreal as fuck.

I had another remix I was working on years ago. And every time I would work on it, my 4 year old nephew would come in and start dancing around the room.
