i always thought this was kinda obvious, no way could god make a rock so big that he can't move it because god could do fucking anything. it seems like he would say he could do this only to laugh and then pick up the rock to kill the person who said he couldnt move it. (this would be somewhere in the old testament) he can't create things and not manipulate them what the fuck, just ask jesus.

are you being serious? the whole point is that if god can do anything he should also be able to restrict himself. the solution to this problem that makes the most sense to me is that logic does not apply to an omnipotent being and thus he can do both: create a stone he cannot lift and lift that stone.

well it wasnt such a serious answer, but i do think that god wouldnt be able to create a stone he cannot lift because he'd be able to lift the stone regardless if he wanted to. he could restrict himself if he wanted to but i can restrict myself from slapping you in the face with my dick, doesn't mean i can't do it. he can create a stone that he would not lift but it doesn't mean that he can't do it. restrictions and capabilities are different things.

not being able to lift the rock questions his omnipotence too, but a vaguer definition of omnipotence sides with being able to lift the rock. i mean, either side would question it. either he cannot create something or he cannot lift something he has created. the reason i say god would not be able to create a rock he cannot lift is because he can manipulate anything as he sees fit. so its not so much against his power to create but for his power to manipulate.

manipulate sounds like a real devious word and god is just so he cannot deceive me blah blah blah.

the entire thing is suppose to be a paradox but picking both is such a copout.

there are various solutions shapan. people have thought about this for centuries. saying he can just do one of them simply because one interferes "more" with his omnipotence is a much bigger copout. it shatters the sheer basis of a monotheistic god.

My grandfathers stock catchphrase is

"Religion is just a way to keep the poor folk busy talking nonsense, while they don't see the real problems like why they are poor"

You have to imagine that in a West Coast scottish accent.

"Religion iz jist a way tae keep they poor fowk bizzy talkin' shite, while they cannae see and deal wi the fact that they ir poor"

Origin of the universe proposal 6,409,398B

Adam was a representation of god's horny loneliness. god removed his own rib to make a hot companion but decided against this when he realised with his rib removed he could now suck his own cock. From the moment gods lips touched his own purple parson he was transformed into a phasing singularity of sexual duality. The big bang was and is god rapt in an oroboros cycle of orgasmic ecstasy and self satisfaction from which all energy radiates and eventually recedes to. This explains why god always looks smug.

How much more difficult is "there has to be a God" vs. "all matter in the universe was once compressed into a space smaller than a molecule, and then for some reason exploded" to believe?
