Well i've come to the point where i see sp as a circus. Billy talking so much on his podcast living in his whole bubble. And i've learnt from the past that he is announcing stuff regularly, but it is often not happening.
It has come so far that i dont believe most things he is talking or annoucing.
All this false hope i had james comin back. It is more wpc solo than ever...
I see how atum 1 was received by listeners. Worst rating and besides 2-3 tracks i dont care.

I let go billy...spinning adore at the moment- and i feel billy right from opnening track to sheila.

I just dont feel anything from atum......it is what it is.....and that is ok.

On James playing- whammy solo in beguiled is obviously him. There are other guitar parts in act 1 that are played with only the weird flare that he has, and I pointed them out in some other thread.

Jimmy’s into it, if you’ve listened to any of his recent interviews. He’s on this kick of playing simple and to the song, having worked on his timing and so on. He’s making all the same statements as billy, making the music they want, etc etc.

This is generally the same for me; it helps to do my dumb little jokes and japes here and to see the same from other folks. I'd just add, and perhaps this is relevant to the other half of this response, that when I'm stressed as opposed to just depressed, I start getting aggressive here and that ain't helpin' nobody feel better, and I need to get better about recognizing I'm in that state before taking it out on folks.

D'arcy at least played in the band when it was good. I have no idea what Jeff has ever done on these glorified Corgan solo albums aside from that lead part on "One and All" which was decent.

jeff has been relegated to playing mostly rhythm parts to add heaviness to the bands sound, with an occasional solo rather than solo at every moment of the show. I am ok with that.. and I was a HUGE anti Jeff guy for the longest time.

i don't really either.. but he's there. but the band is also pretty aware, i think, of this fan view point.. he's most definitely not the focus of any part of the show these days.

I'm always going to be at least morbidly curious about what the Pumpkins/Billy's Media Machine is up to. I'm too far invested at this point. If I listen to something and I think it sucks, then at least I get to laugh at it and crack lame jokes.

Throughout the history of the Pumpkins, Zwan, members solo stuffs, live shows, etc etc there's a shit load of material which is either classic, good, fine, or bad. I can live with that, I'll literally never get bored of the songs I like, because I'm not going to let the bad stuff spoil the good stuff.

If he's going to synth, butt chug, viIiIiIbrato and word salad his way until the cows come home, then fuck it. I'm in, but maybe one day he'll realise how sterile he's become and then make something I like. Maybe (probably) he won't. I don't mind a few of the ATUM songs so far. It's fine. It is what it is.

You've just gotta be healthy about it. Not everything is for you.
