scariest thing ever to happen to me was turning 23 and reckoning with the fact that i hadn't made my "gish" yet

do you do that thing where you track an artist you like and figure out what albums they were making at the age you are now?

Another dream I remember pretty vividly from that age, which I think I only had once, was that I was running through my house, which was all dark, no one else home, as though something were chasing me. I arrived at our pull-out couch — again, I think there was a sort of force compelling me to go there, unwillingly. The couch unfolded partly and a werewolf reached out and started to pull me in, and I woke up. |

I once heard that if you woke up at midnight on your 16th birthday you would die.
Luckily I didn’t. |

When I was in high school, I was sleeping at night and woke up to the sound of gun shots.. but I didn't think anything of it as I thought I might still be half dreaming or it was just hunters in the woods. Wake up two hours later to hear fire sirens, and see the house next door fully engulfed in flames. Turns out our neighbor shot his wife and two young kids, dragged their bodies into the master bedroom, set the house on fire then shot himself. Fire was put out and that house stayed undemolished for about 2 years.. so everyday I could see into the part of the house that had their entryway closet, exposing burned clothes and jackets, etc etc. There were points in the rest of my time living next door to that house where I'd wake in the middle of the night to the sound of gunshots.
There was one night we saw a light turn on in the kitchen part of the house, which was impossible because the house was half burned, so no electricity. that light stayed on for two hours, then just shuts off. We kept our curtains shut for most of the day because we couldn't stand seeing it everytime we'd look out the window, and we were getting really spooked out by some of the things that were happening to what was an empty and charred house. I still have dreams time to time about that whole thing. Last edited by paranoid : 11-07-2022 at 10:20 PM. |

[SICK SAD WORLD GIF]
never had that happen to me but i used to have a bedroom that faced the street and i've always been a light sleeper. i SWEAR waking up in the middle of the night to a girl screaming and looking out my window and seeing a girl my age (around 8 or 9) being carried to a car. i would have gotten yelled at for waking up my parents at that hour so i was torn until the car drove off and what the heck could i do? i really hope that was a nightmare that i had. |
