These dum-dums keep throwing around the phrase "cleaned up" but like what exactly needs to be cleaned up?

What actual changes need to be addressed?

What does "cleaned up" even mean????

Dum-Dums: MACHINA IS OVERPRODUCED AND IT RUINED THE SONGS

also the same Dum-Dums: MACHINA 2 NEEDS TO BE "FIXED" AND "CLEANED UP"

it's i guess muddy in a way, but it's not like i can't hear everything or can't enjoy the songs

i want more shit like strength in numbers, or some good live takes, pale scales, etc etc than 2020 remixes of classic tracks with a 'story' this time

regardless of if they even touch the mixes, wouldn't it be the first time we actually got a direct master of Machina 2 instead of just someone's vinyl rip?

I think both machinas sound bad.
No pumpkins album past adore sounds good on a technical level.

I’m not betting on getting improved versions of anything… besides maybe that acoustic G&TGC in full instead of just cut off

Mostly hoping for unheard content but there prob won’t be much of that… also it’s not coming out anyway lmfao

Idk, I enjoy the Machina I treatment. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I enjoy the muddy textures, and I like how so many parts are buried and almost inaudible. You can hear them enough to know they are good, but you really need to focus, and they make you feel wistful for something you can glimpse but never hold.

Machina II sounds like a pretty good demo or lo-fi album. I enjoy the sound too, and I wouldn't trade it for a final album-quality version, but I can see how the band would have made other production choices if they were actually releasing it officially.

Are they deleting the old Machina 2 tracks or something?

Damn, I think most of Machina I sounds pretty great - notably the "dreamier" stuff i.e. This Time (POSSIBLY my all time favorite SP song,) I of the Mourning, With Every Light, AoI but tbh I fuckin' love the "cybermetal" shit as well

it's the more middle of the road tunes that kinda suffer, and obv they botched a few songs that clearly exist in better forms either live or on other releases (or in the case of GatGC, straight-up unreleased!)

I feel like billy attempted to write hits with the 'middle of the road' stuff.
billy doesn't know what a hit is.

My favourite Pumpkins track is Ruby (Pit mix 3).

Absolutely one of the best songs ever written.

Billy Corgan must have made some bad decisions (for the money) back in the 90s when he signed agreements with Virgin. I can't believe how little control, 23 years later, he has over these songs.

It also makes it all the more strange how they were able to get permission to release M2 for free back then (??)

Does anyone think it would matter if fans wrote letters to the record companies asking for release of Machina reissue?
