I like carpet but it depends what kind. Hard wood floors are pretty but they kinda suck sometimes.

hows this: if you're renting the place and you spill a gallon of kool aid on it, you're fucked. in fact, spilling anything on it fucks it up. even if you spill water it goes into the padding and attracts mold.

i prefer hardwood overall but i'm alos the kind of guy who loves laying down on the floor so its a big drawback for me

The only problem with hardwood or tile is makes the house a lot louder, carpet absorbs alot of sound.

We're renovating, stripping carpets and getting hardwood everywhere I believe. Maybe we'll have carpet in the little office room (the one I'm in now)

My bedroom has a concrete floor which sucks, but I don't want carpet so I'm just going to get a massive rug. Problem solved.

Carpet feels more "homey". It's nice to lay on or sit on. I have hardwood flooring in my room, because of the moldiness of carpet, but I'd prefer some nice carpet. It's more inviting.
