I read this and thought it was a well written Spinal Tapish joke. I actually was going to fault it for the line "What's with us and bassists?", because I thought it was all too similar to the joke about drummers in that movie. It's not to must life imitating art and vice versa. It's just fucking metal bands.

admittedly, however, those tours do have the convenience of being an actual tour instead of just a 1-4 day stop somewhere.

...and I suppose the east coast of the US has a few decent festivals they hold annually, but they're not nearly as established as the European fests.

i found out it's a norwegian festival even, which makes me surprised why i haven't heard of it. perhaps it's because i'm not really into metal.
