Default Rest In Peace, Eulogy

Got word yesterday that Eulogy passed away.

RIP to a legend. Tell stories if you've got them, but be respectful.

I used to secretly love when he and trots would bicker about everything. I don't know why.

i feel like we are all well beyond the age where someone would do a 'prank' about someone dying here, so either this is true and quite sad, or this is false and would be quite sad in a different way

do we have any additional information? Eulogy must have started posting here when we was like 12 or 13 or something, which is pretty intense to think about

I asked his husband if I could post this, and I haven't been on Netphoria in almost two years, so this is legit.

All I know is that it happened suddenly and while they were on vacation. I gleaned that from his FB post about it and didn't ask further.

I am here to confirm that Chris passed on Monday. I am up for answering questions… but, ya know. be kind.

This is where we first met and I thought it was right to let the group know.

thanks for letting us know man. i didn't meant to imply it was a troll post, even though i realize it does look that way - my apologies.

really terrible news. you will be missed, Eulogy. guy was full of life and always up for a debate (or argument). way too young.

thanks for letting us know, it's touching and considerate that you thought of us.

i mean... what are you ok with telling us? i don't want to pry but of course the first thing everyone wonders is, "what happened?"

anything we can do to be supportive to you? really sorry to hear this man

What?! Jesus..... I'm so sorry, Caine. This is unbelievable. Dammit I was going to make an NHL thread asking him what's up with the Pens last week. Ugh. No words, he was a super guy.

the abridged version is that we were about 2 hours from arrival in maui when he started to feel fatigued, out of it and just not himself. when we got to the hotel, he just wanted to lay down. this is where it gets… rough. he started vomiting blood clots that came a point that neither of us could react to fast enough. I don’t know how else to describe it without going into details that I cannot bring myself to type out.

and I just appreciate the kind thoughts and words. he was my life. just remember him fondly, no matter how combative he was.

sorry to make you relive that and thank you for helping us understand.

i will chime in with memories i have of Eulogy.. it wasn't like we were best buds and i didn't have a ton of 1:1 communication with him, but we've both been here for so long, he was a huge part of the board and i will indeed remember him fondly

sorry Caine, thinking of you

I did always enjoy his righteous anger, how he just put everything out there even if he sometimes took it back later. The way he was able to express himself is something I admired.

I'm so sorry. His kindness really shined through those (tastefully) gruff edges. I will very much miss whatever interactions we've had over the last 10 years. I have always appreciated his openness to listen to all sides of an argument, and he always gave me the benefit of the doubt. I knew I was being intelligent and fair if we were ever in agreement, that's the kind of bar he set. I can't imagine what you're feeling.... I appreciate you letting us know.

This is terrible, im so sorry to hear this. Had a blast reading Eulogy posts on here before i joined; it was intelligent, passionate presences like his that drew me to this board in the first place. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to celebrate him. We’re here for u

thank you, everyone. it’s been absolutely fucking surreal…

but I have to say, my favorite memories of Eulogy as a poster was watching him argue pages into PAGES IN.TO. PAY.GES. with brendan. good times

caine, i didn't really know you or eulogy, but i always appreciated the fire he would bring to the board, and his shared love of taylor swift. he obviously didn't give a shit about what anyone thought of his opinions and he was always willing to stand up for what he believed, and would fight it with fire. I loved reading it all.. and his views were often a barometer for what i felt was my own feeling on whatever subject he was debating. TL;DR i agreed with him probably 99% of the time.

did he have a condition or was this unexpected and random? so sorry you had to go through that.. the experience of it sounds terrifying and unfair.

Just heard the news. Eulogy seemed like a major part of the board right from the time I started reading/posting forever ago until now, and it's so strange to hear he's passed. Caine, thank you for coming here to talk about him — I can't imagine how hard that must be right now, and you have my respect for your strength. I'm so sorry.
