Each year I set a goal to read more and am making good on it, for once. In the past month I finished William Goldman's Magic and H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man. Next, I crack Stephen King's It, finally.

And yes, my next goal is to read a book that has yet to be adapted into a film.

I read IT last October. I never read him as a young person so when I read them now, they aren't actually scary but I do like a good story.

Also, invisible man is good!

Yeah, same. I've also seen most of the adaptations, so it's all old hat to me at this point (saw OG Pet Sematary in theaters when I was 5...). Still, his writing and storytelling is top-shelf and the more of his I read, the more I get "it".

I'm still reading Guns, Germs, and Steel for fun (barely on page 220 or some shit). But I read two books last quarter for school--one by Paolo Friere and another by Ivan Ilich.

On Friday I bought a book called Negroes with Guns and another called Mornings in Mexico by D.H Lawrence.

I read all the Dark Tower and it was p cool

it never gets as surreal and senscesent as the first book but I'd say it's worth going through the whole series

Just started Crime and Punishment. This is my first Dostoyevsky. This book has an upsetting amount of underlining from a previous owner

i've spent a lot of commutes this summer doing crosswords...tough ones.i got the book at half price books and none of them were even started. super great deal. and they are seriously no joke.

working remotely was great when i was still in school and teaching esl on mondays and needed the flexibility, but everything is on a summer break except for work so i'm home a lot and i'm so bored. i need to do something with my life until september.
