i'm not even ashamed to admit that if i get a flat and there's no able bodied man around to fix it that i'll be calling triple a to come out and fix that shit.

thank god i havent had a flat tire yet. id panic, and judging by how fast i drive id be in a bad position. id probably call triple A as well.
today i ran a red. not a red turning yellow, i was just driving, and for some reason i just kept going. the cars on the adjacent side were about to start off, it was so stupid. i felt weird when i was driving after that, it was on the way to dennys with my roommate. thats probably been the worst experience ive had driving thus far, even worse than getting tickets. i just felt so awkward afterwards. my roommate was like dude what the fuck were you doing and i had no answer at all. |

hah, i have to run a red light back home because the light never changes...it's weird.
it's funny too, today i forgot my cell phone when i was heading out. i must be starting a run of bad luck. i hope my fullsize spare will make it all the way back home. it should, since it's a normal tire, but since it's been under my truck for about 7 years, i'm not sure if there are any defects on having it open to the atmosphere for that long. although our atmosphere is nurturing, i'm not sure if the tire can be treated as a normal tire...it definitely needs a good cleaning. i might take a picture tomorrow if i get a chance so bonnie will know what this thread is about. |

I think if I were on flat ground trying to go as fast as humanly possible, I could probably get it done pretty quickly... But so far I've only changed flats on my friends' cars, and I was kind of half-assing it. I never timed myself, though.

one lug nut was pretty tough. the dealership must have over-torqued it when i got new tires a while back.
i think they meant they would call AAA if they didn't have any manpower around... |

Once you know how to change a flat, like where your tools are, where the spare is, how to use the jack, you feel really comfortable with doing it yourself. Two years ago I would've called AAA, now there's no way. What sucks is when you change a flat your "doughnut" has a really gay speed rating, so you have to move so slowly.

I tried to change a flat last summer but it turned out my friend's station wagon had no jack, so I didn't feel too shitty for being unable to change it. Some guys pulled up in a few minutes and changed the tire for us.

I would probably cry and call one of the guys I work with or my boyfriend and get them to come fix it. I am a tiny person and I hate cars and machines in general.

what about people like me who's personal belief is that something like that is a task best suited for a man in the know(not that i would be adverse to a woman showing up from triple a and doing it - it's just not my thing)? i'm not a girly girl at all. but there's no fucking way i'm changing a flat. or doing anything to my car other than cleaning it, pumping gas and checking fluids. |

yeah I am with Oblivious. I think I could do it if I really had to but I'd rather just let my step dad or my boyfriend or someone with much more automobile knowledge than me worry about that shit
