Eh, I find it totally fair game to respond to a public figure's publicly made comments.

A lot less voyeuristic than when tabloids publish stuff about what celebs are getting divorced or checking into rehab or having mental health crises when the celebs didn't publicly disclose this stuff themselves. Some headline popped onto my Edge New Tab feed (I swear I only use Edge for the PDF text-to-speech function, which is way better than Adobe Reader's) about some former child star being checked into the pscyh ward, and I was like, who the hell feels like they need to know about this stuff? Leave her alone. It would be one thing if she publicly announced it, but I would bet some asshole paparazzi just got leaked some info (idk I didn't read the article).

Even in those cases, I am not so considerate about a celebrity's feelings. I think they must not register as human to me. Hearing one too many out-of-touch interviews full of unobtainable ideological bullshit, self-aggrandizing money-fueled superiority complexes, or equating their luck with good looks and connections to hard work and/or talent has broken me.

I feel sympathy for actual children thrust into the spotlight, but young adults still chose it and are old enough to endure the consequences of that choice.
