In a town 30 minutes from me there are 5 cannabis shops within a 1 mile radius. I just figured out one of them delivers all the way out here. Will be helpful. I've never driven in snow and am going to be avoiding it as much as possible.

I've been doing genealogy work on my family tree. While most of my ancestors were from Friesland, Denmark, Sweden, there is a line through my father's side going back to England.

This man, Thomas "The Martyr" Carman is my 14th great grandfather and one of my English ancestors. He was condemned and burned at the stake by Bloody Mary Queen of England in the 16th century. His crime was refusing to accept the Eucharist, which he and his heretic co-conspirators called "a false idol."

While every one of my Frisian and Scandinavian ancestors so far seems to have been either a farmer or tradesman, I've stumbled on a few English ship captains and people with English titles. My English line comes into the colonies initially between 1630 and 1640, but from that point on they all seem to be farmers and laborers. I've read many census documents going back 300 years, and so far none seem to have been Slavers. But they certainly benefited from slavery and genocide.

The oldest ancestor i've been able to find is my 19th great grandfather, Riurd Jarichsma. He lived in Friesland. But that's all I know of him. I found him going back through the Havinga/Dijkstra part of my family tree. Those Frisians kept meticulous records.

I've managed to find quite a few of the Danes and Swedes in my family tree as well. The oldest Dane is Hans Madsen who was from Maribo. The Oldest Swede is Eskil Persson from the tiny town of Slättne, Sweden.

That's some crazy shit. Are there other people in your tree who are "famous" like this guy? Like, have a death with a known story?

I share a relative with President Taft. I share a relative with President Lincoln.

There are more than a few "captains" in my ancestry through the English side, but i haven't really looked too deeply into any of them. Some were actual sea captains... some were military captains.

Again in the English lines there were quite a few that came over in the Great Migration between 1600 and 1680ish. I've not had time to look too deaply into any of them, but they appear to all been farmers in New England.

I just recently found one of my ancestor's Civil War draft registration documents. I've seen my grandfathers' registrations for WW2 and great grandfathers' registrations for WW1. But the Civil war document was kind of nuts to stumble on.

All my Scandinavian and Frisian ancestors seem to have been farmers. And all the "german" ancestors are from the very North of Germany... along the coast and in the Rhineland. All of them were farmers or tradesmen. No famous folks yet. All of them lived in Prussia or other states that predated modern Germany. Not surprisingly, they all americanized their names when they got to America. I had to call my mom and tell her that her Grandmother Cecile was actually named Jisseltje, and that my mom's maiden name had changed spelling.
