Core Duo...

going to keep touting this... but the MacBook comes with one year warranty, and if you want to extend it to three years at any point during the first year of owning it, $239.

I have a hp ze4900 have had it about 2 years? no problems.

The Macs I'm sure are nice -- but really, if you're definitely going to be running Windows on it how practical is it to go that route when this whole Windows on a Mac thing is so new? I don't know what does/doesn't work, but I'm sure there's a list of issues from software to hardware that the typical user isn't going to want to deal with.

my apple care has paid for itself alone in having the hard drive replaced. also gotten a few other things that were no big deal like a new charger and keyboard. still worked, only slightly damaged.. I mainly just wanted a new one.

In the AMD Turion 64 stuff, the HP nx6125 is very good for the price, we just bought 5 at my work, very impressed.
