That's my favorite part of that song!

I think we're going to buy an extra sleeping bag today so I can pick up my copy while we're in town. I think this is the only band that I still actually go out and buy the albums of anymore. Let alone on release day.

I just bought it 3 hours ago and have only listened to it once. I don't know what to think of it yet. It's a chock full of weird stuff. No catchy riffs like Icky Thump, at least that I noticed so far. I did particularly enjoy 'Prickle Thorn, But Sweetly Worn', 'Little Cream Soda', 'Rag and Bone, and 'Catch Hell Blues.' White Stripes are out there so it takes me awhile to enjoy their songs.

the TIME review of this album was a lol-fest. so awful.

it basically said, we want straight rock, none of this weird off-the-wall stuff. i dont even find Prickly Thorn that weird...?

Is this the "Guitars = good, mariachi = bad" review? The picture of them playing with a piece of yarn goes perfect with the review.

its a very good record.

still not as desirable for me as their 1st LP, but enjoyable nonetheless

yeah the cream soda + rag and bone 1-2 punch is amazing. Jack and Meg make lol in a great way during the crazy garbage picker rants. Although Rag+Bone kind of sounds like the White Stripes "Hot For Teacher".

Jack's lyrics on this album are very coolly delivered: "Oh well, Oh well, Oh well."

Everyone is comparing it to white blood cells but I think it sounds like Elephant 2.

yeah I was just comparing the heavyness and guitar sounds more to be akin to Elephant then Satan or white blood aids.

if anything, the guitar sound reminds me of the first LP, with the bluesy influences. Not trying to be contrarian here. Overall a very unique sounding record

I'm with you, man. It definitely sounds more like a mish mash of the first album and De Stijl than anything else. Although YDKWLI (YDAYT) could be straight off White Blood Cells, for sure.

I don't think I could choose a favorite album, though. Is that lame or what I sound like I did when I was 14 years old and in love with teh bolly.
